What Happened to Saint-Céneré?
Over time, Saint-Céneré joined with other nearby towns to form bigger communities.
Joining Montsûrs-Saint-Céneré
On January 1, 2017, Saint-Céneré became part of a new, larger commune called Montsûrs-Saint-Céneré. This meant it was no longer a separate commune on its own.
Becoming Part of Montsûrs
Later, on January 1, 2019, Montsûrs-Saint-Céneré itself joined with three other communes: Deux-Évailles, Montourtier, and Saint-Ouën-des-Vallons. The new, even larger community was given the name Montsûrs. So, Saint-Céneré is now part of the bigger Montsûrs commune.
