The Saint-Pierre River is a smaller river that flows into the Saint-Regis River. It is located in the Montérégie region of Quebec, Canada. The river passes through the towns of Saint-Rémi and Saint-Constant.
During winter, the river usually freezes over from mid-December until the end of March. It is generally safe to walk or play on the ice from late December to early March. The amount of water in the river changes throughout the year, depending on the seasons and how much rain or snow falls.

Where Does the Saint-Pierre River Flow?
The Saint-Pierre River is surrounded by other important waterways. These include:
- To the north: The Saint-Regis River, the St. Lawrence Seaway, and the large Saint Lawrence River.
- To the east: The Rivière de la Tortue (Delson).
- To the south: The Noire River (rivière de l'Esturgeon).
- To the west: The rivière de l'Esturgeon.
The River's Beginning
The Saint-Pierre River starts from several small streams in farm areas. These streams, like the Cordon and Marcotte streams, gather water from the land north of Saint-Rémi. This is where the river's journey begins.
Its Path Through Towns
From Saint-Rémi, the Saint-Pierre River flows north through farmland. A road called Route 209 runs along its eastern side. The river then goes under the Autoroute 30 bridge.
After this, the Saint-Pierre River enters the town of Saint-Constant. Here, it collects water from a western branch that comes from the village of Saint-Isidore. The river continues its path through Saint-Constant, and also through the cities of Delson and Sainte-Catherine.
Where the River Ends
The Saint-Pierre River finishes its journey just north of Route 132. It flows into the eastern side of the Saint-Regis River. The place where the Saint-Regis River meets a larger body of water is very close to the Côte-Sainte-Catherine lock, which is about 3 kilometers upstream from where the rivière de la Tortue (Delson) joins.
What's in a Name?
The name "Rivière Saint-Pierre" was officially recognized on December 5, 1968. This was done by the Commission de toponymie du Québec, which is a group in Quebec responsible for naming places.
