Saint-Thibaut is a small, historic village located in northern France. It was once a separate commune, which is like a small town or local area with its own government. Saint-Thibaut is part of the Aisne department, which is similar to a county or region.
On January 1, 2022, Saint-Thibaut joined with another village to form a new, larger commune called Bazoches-et-Saint-Thibaut. This means it is no longer a separate commune on its own.
History of Saint-Thibaut
Saint-Thibaut played an important role during World War I. In July and August 1918, it was the location of intense battles. American and German soldiers fought bravely in the area during what was known as the Vesle campaign. This period of fighting left a lasting mark on the village's history.
