Tun Sakaran Dandai passed away on August 30, 2021. He was 91 years old. He died at a hospital in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. His passing was due to COVID-19. He was laid to rest at the Makam Pahlawan, which means 'Heroes' Mausoleum', in Kota Kinabalu.
