- Four log houses, which were some of the earliest homes.
- Many buildings in the Greek Revival style. This style uses ideas from ancient Greek temples, like tall columns.
- The Central Hotel, a place where travelers used to stay.
- A church built in the Gothic Revival style, which often has pointed arches and tall windows.
- Old shops like a feed mill, a wagon shop, a livery stable (for horses), a brick yard, and a blacksmith shop.
- Even an old Ford Garage from the 1920s, showing how the town changed over time.
National Recognition
The Salem Crossroads Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. This is a list of places across the United States that are important to history. Being on this list helps protect these special places for future generations to enjoy and learn from.
