Salesforce West, also known as 50 Fremont Center, is a tall office building in San Francisco, California. It has 43 floors and stands about 183 meters (600 feet) high. The building was finished in 1985. It is located near the financial district and SoMa areas. Its design, with parts that step back, looks a bit like older, famous buildings.

Building History

This building, at 50 Fremont Street, was first built by a company called Fremont Properties. Over the years, it was sold a few times. In 2004, a company named TIAA-CREF bought it.

The building was designed by a company called Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. They made it with stepped sections at the corners. The top of the building looks like the style of old Art Deco skyscrapers.

In 2012, a big tech company called Salesforce decided to rent a large part of the building. They signed a long lease for 18 years. Later, in 2014, Salesforce agreed to buy the whole tower.

Salesforce officially bought the building in 2015 for over $637 million. They then renamed it Salesforce West. This building is now part of a group of Salesforce buildings in the city. Other buildings include Salesforce East and the Salesforce Tower.

In 2023, many office buildings in downtown San Francisco had empty spaces. Salesforce West also had a lot of empty offices at that time.
