It won the SABC/You magazine "I am a writer Competition" in 2007. The book also received the MER Prize for Best Youth Novel in 2008. This award was given at the Mnet Via Afrika Awards.
Her second novel, Fuse, explores serious topics. It tells a story about difficult situations at school and about bullying. It also features characters who have left home. The story takes place in the cities of Cape Town and Pretoria. Fuse was a finalist for the Percy Fitzpatrick Prize for Youth Fiction. This award is given by the SA English Academy.

Sally's third novel is titled Dark Poppy’s Demise. This book is about a sixteen-year-old girl named Jenna Brooks. She gets into trouble with a dangerous person she meets online through Facebook. This novel also won the MER Prize for Best Youth Novel. It received this award at the Media24 Literary Awards.
Her fourth novel, Sharp Edges, came out in August 2013. In the same year, Sally Partridge was chosen as a finalist for the Commonwealth Short Story Prize. This is a major international award for short stories.
Sally has also written short stories. One of her stories, "The Expedition," was published in a collection called Home Away.
In 2022, Sally Partridge won the Percy FitzPatrick Award again. She shared the award for her novel, Sea Star Summer. This shows her continued success in writing for young readers.
