Allison Samuel Hall (born March 11, 1921 – died September 26, 2014), known as Sam Hall, was a talented television writer. He was famous for writing for popular daytime TV shows called soap operas. His most well-known work was on Dark Shadows (from 1967 to 1971) and One Life to Live (from 1975 to 1985). Sam Hall also helped write The Adams Chronicles, a TV series shown on PBS in 1976.

About Sam Hall's Life
Sam Hall was born in Carrollton, Ohio, in 1921. His parents were Samuel and Beatrice Hall. He was married to a famous actress named Grayson Hall. She was even nominated for an Academy Award! Grayson Hall acted in both Dark Shadows and One Life to Live. She played Dr. Julia Hoffman in Dark Shadows and Euphemia Ralston in One Life to Live.
Later in his life, Sam Hall wrote a play called "War Games." He also performed in this play. It was shown at the Rhinebeck Theatre's barn in the early 2000s.
Writing for TV Shows
Sam Hall started his writing career on a TV show called The Brighter Day. He joined Dark Shadows after his wife, Grayson Hall, was hired to act in it. Sam Hall and his writing partner, Gordon Russell, became very well known for their work on Dark Shadows. They also worked together on One Life to Live. Interestingly, Sam Hall's son, Matthew Hall, later became a writer for a new version of Dark Shadows.
After Dark Shadows finished, Sam Hall and Gordon Russell began writing for One Life to Live. Sam Hall later wrote for another show called Another World. He then returned to One Life to Live, working with different writers like Peggy O'Shea and Henry Slesar.
