The Samaná Peninsula is a beautiful piece of land in the Dominican Republic. It's a peninsula, which means it's land surrounded by water on almost all sides. It connects to the main part of the country by a narrow strip of land called an isthmus. To its south, you'll find the lovely Samaná Bay.

This peninsula is famous for its many amazing beaches. You can find some of the best ones near the city of Santa Bárbara de Samaná. Three rivers also flow through this area. Long ago, the Samaná Peninsula was home to the Ciguayos people. They spoke their own unique language, called Ciguayo language, before the Spanish arrived.
