Samina Peerzada is a famous Pakistani actress, producer, and director. She was also a popular model in the 1970s. She became one of the most successful actresses in the 1980s and 1990s.

Early Life and Education
Samina Peerzada was born in Lahore, Pakistan. Her family was from Kashmir. After her parents separated, she grew up in Karachi, Sindh. She studied commerce before deciding to become an actress. After working in many TV dramas and small ads, she started getting main roles in films.
Samina Peerzada's Career
Samina Peerzada began her career as a model in 1974. She then acted in several films. Some of these include Nazdikiyan, Mukhra, Bazar-e-Husn, Shaadi Mere Shohar Ki, and Bulandi.
She has traveled a lot for her work. She even performed in Oslo, Norway, at The International Ibsen Festival. She has also acted in plays like Raaz-o-Niaz and Ibsen's A Doll's House.
Her TV shows include popular dramas like Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Meri Zaat Zarra-e-Benishan, Rehaai, Durr-e-Shahwar, Dastaan, and Karobi.
Samina Peerzada also directed films. Her first film as a director was Inteha in 1999. This film was praised for talking about important social issues. Later, she directed another film called Shararat.

Personal Life
Samina Peerzada married Usman Peerzada in 1975. He is also a well-known person in the media. They have two daughters, Anum and Amal. Their younger daughter, Amal, is a miniature artist.
Awards and Achievements
Samina Peerzada has won many awards for her work. Her first film as a director, Inteha, won nine national awards. She also received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Beyond the Mango Film Festival in the UK in 2013.
She won the Hum Award for Best Supporting Actress two years in a row, in 2013 for Roshan Sitara and in 2014 for Zindagi Gulzar Hai. In 2015, she received the Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Television from Hum TV.
