Life in San Pedro de Zamudia

San Pedro de Zamudia becomes much busier during the summer months. Many people who grew up there, or have family ties to the village, come back to visit. It's a time for reunions and enjoying the quiet village life.

The village has a very old church. Long ago, there was also a convent for both nuns and monks in San Pedro. The church stands on very fertile land, which is used for farming.

The outside of the church has a special bell-gable called an espadaña. This is a wall that holds the church bells. Inside the church, you can see a large main altarpiece and a baptismal font.

The houses in San Pedro de Zamudia are often very sunny. They are built in an irregular way, not following a strict plan. Since there are no stone quarries nearby, the traditional houses are made from local materials, possibly a type of clay or earth.
