Early Training and Theater
Sandra Escacena started learning about acting at a young age. From 2009 to 2012, she studied theater. She attended the School S.V. Performing Productions in Villaviciosa de Odón, Spain. Later, from 2012 to 2014, she continued her studies. She went to the Municipal School of Dramatic Art in Madrid.
Since 2015, Sandra has been taking theater classes. She attends the Primera Toma school, also in Madrid. During these years, she has performed in many different plays.
Big Break in Film
In 2016, Sandra got a big chance. A casting director named Arantza Velez suggested she try out for a movie. The role was for the main character, Veronica. This was for the film Veronica, directed by Paco Plaza. Sandra was chosen for the part.
Her performance in Veronica was highly praised. In December 2017, she was nominated for two important awards. She was nominated for the Goya Award for Best New Actress. She also received a nomination for the Feroz Award for Best Main Actress in a Film.
