Sandy Point is a small city in Brazoria County, Texas, United States. It's located along Farm to Market Road 521 (FM 521). Long ago, in the 1800s, Sandy Point was important for nearby farms that grew sugar cane and cotton. While its old post office, school, and railroad are gone, the community still had two churches in 2013. In 2020, about 207 people lived in Sandy Point.
History of Sandy Point
Sandy Point became an official city in 2012. This happened so it would not be taken over by Missouri City, another nearby city. In 2015, Missouri City agreed to recognize Sandy Point as its own city.
