The Santa Rosa River is an important river located in western Brazil. It flows through the state of Acre. This river is a smaller stream that flows into a larger one, known as a tributary. The Santa Rosa River is a tributary of the Purus River.
Where the Santa Rosa River Flows
The Santa Rosa River starts its journey by marking a special line. It forms part of the border between two countries: Peru and Brazil. This happens in the middle part of the Acre state.
River's Path and Important Areas
After defining the border, the river continues to flow. For a short distance, it runs alongside a protected area. This area is called the Santa Rosa do Purus National Forest. This forest is a special place for nature. It was created in 2001 to help protect the environment. It is a "sustainable use" area. This means people can use its resources carefully without harming it.
The river keeps flowing until it reaches the Purus River. It joins the Purus River right across from a community. This community is named Santa Rosa do Purus.
