Santa Victoria Oeste is a small town and a municipality (a type of local government area). It is also the main town of the Santa Victoria Department. This area is in the far northwest part of the Salta Province in Argentina.

The town is nestled among mountains and valleys. It sits right on the border with Bolivia. Santa Victoria Oeste is about 540 kilometers (335 miles) away from Salta City.

Where is Santa Victoria Oeste?

This village is located on the western edge of the Yungas jungles. The Yungas are a type of cloud forest found in the Andes mountains. As you move north in Salta Province, the forests slowly change into grasslands. This area is called the Prepuna. Santa Victoria Oeste appears in this landscape, sitting at an elevation of 2,400 meters (about 7,874 feet) above sea level.

The village is surrounded by tall mountains. To the west, you can see the Bravo and San Jose hills. To the east, there is a ridge of hills including Shipyards, Paraguay, and Vallecito. These hills act like a natural shield for the Yungas forests. The town is also located where two rivers, the Acoyte and La Huerta, meet. This makes it a unique and beautiful place.
