After that, he played in the Mexican League from 1973 to 1976. He was also part of the Leones de Ponce team in Puerto Rico. This team won the 1972 Caribbean Series.

A Serious Game Incident
What Happened on the Field
During his playing career, Santiago Rosario was involved in a very serious event. It happened during a Pacific Coast League game on May 11, 1966. The Seattle Angels were playing against the Vancouver Mounties.
A pitcher threw a ball that hit a Vancouver player. This caused a big argument on the field. During the confusion, Santiago Rosario, who was waiting to bat, got involved. He used his bat in a way that caused an injury to another player.
The Consequences
After the incident, the president of the Pacific Coast League, Dewey Soriano, took action. He fined all the players involved. Santiago Rosario was suspended for the rest of the season. Mr. Soriano said, "Using a bat on a player is not part of baseball." This shows that such actions are not allowed in the sport.
