Sarah Christine Roemer (born August 28, 1984) is an American actress and model. She is known for her role as Ashley Carlson in the popular thriller movie Disturbia. She has also appeared in many other movies, including Hachi: A Dog's Tale, Asylum, and Fired Up!. Besides movies, she has acted in TV shows like The Event and Chosen.

Early Life and Modeling

Sarah Roemer was born in San Diego, California, on August 28, 1984. When she was 15 years old, a modeling agency discovered her. This happened while she was at a 7-Eleven store.

She went to Horizon Junior and Senior High School. After that, she moved to Los Angeles to begin her modeling career. She signed with ID Model Management in New York City. She modeled for several magazines before becoming an actress.

Acting Career

Movie Roles

Roemer's first movie was an independent film called Wristcutters: A Love Story. In 2006, she played a cheerleader in the scary movie The Grudge 2. Even though critics didn't love the movie, it was a big success at the box office.

Her big break came in 2007 when she starred with Shia LaBeouf in the thriller Disturbia. She played Ashley, the new neighbor and love interest of LaBeouf's character. The movie was a huge hit, earning over $117 million.

In 2008, she acted in the horror film Asylum, which went straight to DVD. The next year, she appeared in the teen comedy Fired Up!.

One of her most heartwarming roles was in the 2009 movie Hachi: A Dog's Tale. She played the daughter of a character played by Richard Gere. The film is an American version of a famous Japanese story about a loyal dog.

Television and Later Work

In 2010, Roemer starred in the NBC TV series The Event, where she played the main character Leila Buchanan. The show ran for one season.

She also appeared in several independent films around this time, including Waking Madison and The Con Artist. In the movie Locked In, she not only acted but also worked behind the scenes as an associate producer.

Roemer also made an appearance in the music video for the song "Come Back to Me" by singer David Cook.

Personal Life

In 2014, Sarah Roemer started dating actor Chad Michael Murray, her co-star from the TV show Chosen. They got married in January 2015.

The couple has three children together. They have a son who was born in 2015, and two daughters, born in 2017 and 2023.
