Sarah Wayne Callies (born June 1, 1977) is an American actress. She is famous for her roles in popular TV shows. You might know her as Sara Tancredi in Fox's Prison Break. She also played Lori Grimes in AMC's The Walking Dead. More recently, she appeared as Birdie Nicolletti in ABC's The Company You Keep.
Sarah has also starred as Katie Bowman in USA Network's Colony. She was Robin Perry in NBC's Council of Dads. Her movie roles include Whisper (2007), Black Gold (2011), and The Show (2017).

Early Life and Education
Sarah Wayne Callies was born in La Grange, Illinois. When she was just one year old, her family moved to Honolulu, Hawaii. Her parents, Valerie Wayne and David E. Callies, were both professors. They taught at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.
From a young age, Sarah loved acting. She performed in many school plays at the Punahou School. After high school, she went to Dartmouth College. There, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in drama in 1999. She also studied women's studies and Indigenous theology.
Sarah continued to be involved in theater during her college years. She then went on to the National Theatre Conservatory. She earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in 2002.
Acting Career Highlights
Sarah Callies moved to New York in 2003. Soon after, she got her first TV role. She played Kate O'Malley in the CBS show Queens Supreme.
Breaking Out in Prison Break
Before Prison Break, Sarah made guest appearances on shows like Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and NUMB3RS. She then landed a main role on Fox's hit show Prison Break. She played Dr. Sara Tancredi.

Sarah was a main character in the first two seasons. Her character was written out for the third season. However, fans really wanted her back. So, her character returned for the fourth season. The show's producers decided to bring Sara Tancredi back because of the strong fan support.
Surviving in The Walking Dead
In 2010, Sarah Callies was cast in another big role. She played Lori Grimes in AMC's post-apocalyptic drama The Walking Dead. This show is based on a popular comic book series.
The Walking Dead became one of AMC's most-watched shows ever. Sarah played Lori Grimes from the very first episode until the third season.

Sarah starred in her first movie, The Celestine Prophecy, in 2006. The next year, she was in the horror film Whisper with Josh Holloway. In 2010, she appeared on the TV drama House.
