Satoru Asari (浅利 悟, Asari Satoru, born June 10, 1974) is a former Japanese football player. He was born in Saitama, Japan, on June 10, 1974. Asari played as a midfielder during his career.
Satoru Asari's Football Journey
After finishing his studies at Meiji University, Satoru Asari began his professional football career in 1997. He joined a club called Tokyo Gas, which later became known as FC Tokyo. From his very first season, Asari became a key player for the team. He played as a defensive midfielder, which means his job was to help protect the team's goal and stop the other team from scoring.
His team, Tokyo Gas, had a lot of success early on. They finished second in the Japan Football League in 1997. The next year, in 1998, they won the championship! This big win meant they were promoted to a new league called the J2 League in 1999.
In 1999, FC Tokyo continued their winning streak. They finished second in the J2 League, which earned them another promotion. From the year 2000, they started playing in the top Japanese football league, the J1 League. Satoru Asari played in many matches for a long time, showing how important he was to the team.
However, in August 2004, he injured his right knee. After this injury, he didn't get to play as much as before. But in 2008, a new manager named Hiroshi Jofuku recognized his talent, and Asari started playing in many games again. Unfortunately, he faced more injuries in 2009, which made it hard for him to play. Satoru Asari decided to retire from football at the end of the 2009 season.
