Satoru Asari (浅利 悟, Asari Satoru, born June 10, 1974) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a midfielder for FC Tokyo for his entire career.

Satoru Asari's Football Journey

Satoru Asari was born in Saitama, Japan, on June 10, 1974. After finishing his studies at Meiji University, he started his professional football career in 1997. He joined a club called Tokyo Gas, which later became known as FC Tokyo.

From his very first season, Satoru Asari became a key player. He played as a defensive midfielder, which means his job was to help protect his team's goal. He was good at stopping the other team's attacks.

His team, Tokyo Gas, did very well during these years. They finished second in the Japan Football League in 1997. The next year, in 1998, they won the championship! This big win meant the club moved up to a new, higher league called the J2 League in 1999.

In 1999, FC Tokyo continued their success in the J2 League. They finished second, which allowed them to move up again to the top league in Japan, the J1 League, starting in 2000. Satoru Asari played many games for the team during these exciting years.

However, in August 2004, Satoru Asari got a serious injury to his right knee. After this injury, he didn't get to play as much as before. Other talented players like Yasuyuki Konno and Yohei Kajiyama started playing more in his position.

In 2008, a new coach named Hiroshi Jofuku joined FC Tokyo. He saw Satoru Asari's value and gave him more chances to play, which was great for Satoru. But in 2009, Satoru faced more injuries. Because of these injuries, he could hardly play any matches that year. He decided to retire from professional football at the end of the 2009 season.
