Starting with Big Brother
Sauli Koskinen became famous after winning Big Brother 2007 in Finland. He was chosen from nineteen other people. Viewers voted for him over fourteen weeks, and he won! Before the show, Sauli worked in a clothing store in Helsinki. The person who chose contestants for Big Brother said they knew Sauli would be great in just two minutes. They liked his positive attitude and friendly personality.
After Big Brother
In 2008, fans wanted to see Sauli and another Big Brother contestant, Niko Nousiainen, back on TV. Their fans asked for it, and it worked! Sauli and Niko got their own show called Sauli and Niko’s Best Clips. On this show, they watched and talked about funny videos from the internet.
Working in Finnish Media
Soon after, Sauli started working as an online entertainment reporter. He joined a Finnish newspaper called Ilta-Sanomat. There, he hosted weekly shows called Tutka with his co-host Katri Utula. They talked about the latest news in entertainment.
By 2011, Sauli was still working for Ilta-Sanomat. He also started reporting for a Finnish radio station called Radio Aalto. He would call in from the United States to share entertainment news. In May 2012, Sauli hosted a fashion show called Näytös 2012. This show was broadcast live on a Finnish national TV channel, Yle Teema. In December 2013, Sauli also signed with a modeling agency called Paparazzi. This meant he could work as an announcer, actor, and model.
Saulin Paras Kaveri TV Show
On February 28, 2013, Fox Finland announced that Sauli Koskinen would host his own TV show. It was a lifestyle show called Saulin Paras Kaveri, which means "Sauli's Best Friend." The show was filmed in Los Angeles in the spring of 2013. In each episode, Sauli met Finnish celebrities who lived in the Los Angeles area. The first episode aired on September 14, 2013. Famous guests included model Suvi Koponen and chef Stefan Richter.
Winning Dancing on Ice Finland
Sauli Koskinen also won the first season of Nelonen's Dancing on Ice TV show. On August 21, 2013, it was announced that Sauli would be in the Finnish version of Dancing on Ice. In this show, ten celebrities learn to ice skate with a professional partner. Sauli's partner was a synchronized skater named Nea Ojala.
The teams had five weeks to get ready for the first live show. The competition began on September 28, and the final show was on November 30, 2013. Sauli and Nea worked hard and won the entire competition!
