Savaş Ay (born March 26, 1954 – died November 9, 2013) was a famous Turkish journalist. He worked in newspapers and on television. He was also a director, screenwriter, producer, photographer, and actor. He was best known for his popular TV show called A Takımı (The A-Team).

Savaş Ay was born in Gaziantep, Turkey. His parents, Turan Ay and Şükran, were both actors. He studied at the Marmara Academy of Commerce. After finishing his studies, he started his career in journalism.
Early Life and Career Start
Savaş Ay began working as a journalist in 1974. His first job was at a newspaper called Dünya. This newspaper focused on business and economics. Later, he worked for many other well-known newspapers. These included Tercüman, Vatan, Milliyet, and Sabah. He also worked for a news agency called Akajans.
Famous TV Show: A Takımı
Savaş Ay became very famous for his television show, A Takımı. This show started in 1993. It was a panel discussion series. This means that people would discuss important topics on the show. A Takımı was shown on many different TV channels. Some of these channels were atv, TGRT, Kanal D, and Star TV.
A Special Interview
As a journalist, Savaş Ay had many important moments. One notable event was when he interviewed a young person named Erdal Eren. He was one of the last two journalists to speak with Eren. Savaş Ay also took the last photo of Eren in prison. This happened before a very serious event took place.

Savaş Ay passed away on November 9, 2013. He was being treated in a hospital in Istanbul. He is remembered through his son, Ulaş Can Ay, who is a singer, and his daughter, Sanem Dolun Ay.
