Her dad, Phil Stevens, is also well-known in the music world. He helped start Jarrah Records and manages famous bands like John Butler Trio and The Waifs.

Scarlett's Music Journey

Scarlett Stevens started playing drums when she was only ten years old. She loved music from a young age.

Starting with The Flairz

When Scarlett was eleven, she formed a garage rock band called The Flairz. She started it with two friends, John and Dion Mariani. They played guitar, sang, and played bass. The band's first live show was in December 2003. They performed all over Western Australia, fitting shows in between their school studies. The Flairz recorded two mini-albums (called EPs) and one full album. They even got to play at a big music festival called SXSW in the United States.

Forming San Cisco

In November 2009, after finishing high school, The Flairz decided to stop playing together. Scarlett then started jamming with other young musicians. She was asked to play drums on a friend's song. This led to a new band forming, first called King George, which later became San Cisco. San Cisco quickly became a very popular indie band.

Learning from the Best

In an interview from 2013, Scarlett shared how she first learned to play drums. She met Adam Topol, who is the drummer for famous musician Jack Johnson. Adam showed her how to play a basic rock beat. After that, he invited her to play one song on stage with Jack Johnson! This happened at the Forum Theatre in Melbourne. The next year, she even got to play with them again at the Bonnaroo Music Festival.

Side Projects

In 2014, Scarlett started another music project called Ghetto Crystals. This was a two-person electronic hip-hop group. She formed it with Doug May, who is a guitarist.
