Scharnitz is a small town, also called a municipality, in Austria. It is located in the Tyrol region, which is a state in Austria. Scharnitz is part of the Innsbruck-Land area. It is about 16.4 kilometers (about 10 miles) north of a bigger city called Innsbruck. It is also very close to the border with Germany.
Scharnitz is one of the largest municipalities in its area. It is made up of 10 smaller parts or villages. These parts include Au, Eisack, Gießenbach, Inrain, Jägerviertel, Oberdorf, Schanz, Schießstand, Siedlung, and Unterdorf.
