Schriever is a small community in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana, United States. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it is an area that looks like a town but isn't officially a city or village. In 2020, about 6,711 people lived there.
Schriever is part of a larger area called the Houma–Bayou Cane–Thibodaux metropolitan area. This is a group of cities and towns that are close to each other.
The community got its name from a railroad official named John George Schriever. This happened in the 1870s. At that time, a new railroad line was opened to Houma.

Schriever is located in the state of Louisiana. It covers an area of about 14.4 square miles (37.4 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with only a small part being water.

Sherman A. Bernard
Sherman A. Bernard (1925–2012) was born in Schriever. He was an important person in Louisiana politics. From 1972 to 1988, he served as the Louisiana insurance commissioner. This role involves overseeing insurance companies in the state.
Henry S. Thibodaux
Henry S. Thibodaux was a former governor of Louisiana. He was in office in 1824. He owned a large farm, called a plantation, near Schriever. He is buried in a cemetery not far from Schriever, in a place called Gray, Louisiana.
