Schumaker Pond facts for kids
Schumaker Pond is a 35-acre pond located in Wicomico County, Maryland. It was created by building a dam across Beaverdam Creek. The pond belongs to the City of Salisbury and is found on the eastern side of the Salisbury City Park. The deepest part of the pond is about 5 feet, near the dam, in what used to be the creek's path.
Back in the 1950s and 1960s, Schumaker Pond was a popular spot for swimming. However, swimming is no longer allowed because of too much E-Coli bacteria in the water. Today, many people enjoy fishing in the pond.
