Scooch became well-known when they represented the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007. This big music competition took place in Helsinki, Finland. Their song for the contest was called "Flying the Flag (for You)".
The song "Flying the Flag (for You)" was very popular in the UK. It reached number 5 on the UK Top 40 chart on May 13, 2007. Many people downloaded the song two months before its official release. Some believe it could have been number 1 for two weeks if the download and CD versions had come out at the same time.

Scooch performed their song "Flying the Flag (for You)" in the Eurovision final. They were the 19th act to perform that night. After all the votes were counted, Scooch finished in 22nd place. There were 42 countries competing in total.
