Welcome to Scott! This is a small, quiet community located in Indiana, a state in the United States. It's not a big city with its own government, but rather a part of Van Buren Township in LaGrange County. Think of it as a neighborhood that's part of a larger area.
A Look at Scott's History
Scott has an interesting past! It was first planned out in 1833. When a town is "platted", it means someone drew up a map showing where streets and lots would go. Back then, it was actually called Van Buren.
A few years later, in 1837, a post office opened here. It was named Scott. This post office helped people send and receive letters and packages. It stayed open for many years, but eventually closed down in 1905.
Where is Scott Located?
Scott is found right next to the Pigeon River. This river is a natural waterway that flows through the area.
You can also find Scott close to the Indiana Toll Road. This is a major highway that helps people travel across the state. Scott is located about a mile south of the state border with Michigan. This means it's very close to another state!
