Scott Drinkwater, born on May 15, 1997, is an Australian professional rugby league player. He plays as a fullback (fullback) for the North Queensland Cowboys in the National Rugby League (NRL). He has also played as a five-eighth (five-eighth) during his career. Before joining the Cowboys, he played for the Melbourne Storm.

About Scott Drinkwater: Rugby League Star
Early Life and Junior Rugby
Scott Drinkwater was born in Penrith, New South Wales, Australia. He grew up on the Central Coast, New South Wales. Scott has both German and Indigenous Australian heritage.
He started playing junior rugby league for the Terrigal Sharks. When he was in Terrigal High School, he was chosen to represent the Australian Schoolboys in 2015. This is a big achievement for young players.
Starting His Professional Journey
In 2015, Scott played for the Central Coast Centurions in the SG Ball Cup. This is a competition for young rugby league players. Later that year, after playing for the Australian Schoolboys, he signed a three-year contract with the Melbourne Storm.
In 2016, Scott joined the Storm's NYC team. He played 29 games over two seasons and scored 23 tries. A try is like a touchdown in American football. In 2017, he moved up to the Storm's feeder team, the Sunshine Coast Falcons, in the Queensland Cup. He played as a five-eighth in their Grand Final match.

Debut with Melbourne Storm (2018)
In 2018, Scott mostly played for the Easts Tigers, another feeder team for the Melbourne Storm. He also played for the Queensland Residents team.

In Round 25 of the 2018 NRL season, Scott made his first appearance in the NRL for Melbourne. He played against Penrith and even scored a try! At the end of 2018, he was named the best fullback in the Intrust Super Cup Team of the Year. He also won the Cooper Cronk Feeder Club Player of the Year award for the Melbourne Storm.
Moving to North Queensland Cowboys (2019)
In March 2019, Scott injured his pectoral muscle during a trial match. He returned to play 13 weeks later. On June 24, he left the Melbourne Storm and immediately signed a 2.5-year contract with the North Queensland Cowboys. Many people thought he would be the next big star for the Storm. In Round 15 of the 2019 NRL season, he made his debut for North Queensland. He scored a try in his first game for the Cowboys.
Success with the Cowboys (2020-Present)
In February 2020, Scott was part of the North Queensland team that won the 2020 NRL Nines tournament. He was named the Player of the Tournament and was also in the Team of the Tournament. When Valentine Holmes joined the Cowboys, Scott moved to his preferred position as a five-eighth.
He started the 2020 season strong, scoring tries in Round 2 and Round 6. He got injured again in Round 9, missing four weeks. When he returned, he filled in as a fullback for an injured teammate. He finished the season playing as a five-eighth.
On May 5, 2021, Scott signed a new contract with the North Queensland Cowboys. This kept him with the team until the end of the 2023 season.
In 2022, Scott had a great season. He scored two tries in a game against St. George Illawarra in Round 20. The next week, he scored two more tries against Canterbury. He played 22 games as the Cowboys finished third in the league. They made it to the preliminary final but lost, just missing out on the Grand Final.
The 2023 season saw Scott play 21 games and score 11 tries. In Round 2, he was temporarily sent off the field for a shoulder charge. He was later suspended for three matches. Despite this, he had some amazing moments. In Round 16, he scored two tries, including the winning try in extra time, against Penrith. In Round 18, he scored two tries in a huge 74-0 win over the Wests Tigers. The Cowboys finished 11th that year.
In 2024, Scott continued to perform well. He scored two tries in Round 5 against the Gold Coast. In Round 22, he scored two more tries against the Wests Tigers. He played 26 games for the Cowboys as they finished 5th in the league. They made it to the second week of the finals.
As of the 2025 season, Scott is still playing for the North Queensland Cowboys.
