Scotty Granger (born July 19, 1987), also known as Scotty Grand and Scotty G, is an American pop and R&B singer, songwriter, and music producer. He is talented at playing many instruments, including piano, guitar, flute, and saxophone.
Scotty is known for his musical gifts, which many believe come from his great-aunt, the famous "Queen of Gospel Music," Mahalia Jackson.
In 2011, he changed his name to Scotty Grand and started his solo singing career. That same year, he signed a deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing to publish his songs.
He has written many dance songs, especially for clubs in Europe. He became well-known in the American music scene after competing on the TV show Platinum Hit on Bravo. He finished third in the competition and was a favorite among fans.
In 2021, Scotty Grand was part of the team that wrote the theme song for the TV show The Wonder Years. The song, called "All I Know," has won awards, including a Hollywood Music in Media Award (HMMA).

Scotty's Music Journey
Scotty started singing and joining music contests when he was seven years old. In 1998, he appeared on his first TV show from the Apollo Theatre in Harlem, New York. He won first place among 10 other kids.
He released his first album, Revelations of Music, with Jam Tight Records. In 2004, while still in high school, he released his second album, So Natural. This album included his high school's 2005 class song, "Class Dismissed," which he performed at graduation.
In 2006, when he was 18, Scotty appeared on another TV reality show called The One: Making a Music Star on ABC. He was the youngest person to compete on the show.
He later studied music at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. After that, he moved to Los Angeles to continue his music career.
Working with Other Artists
Starting in 2007, Scotty toured with singer Jordin Sparks. He played keyboards and sang backup for her. He also helped direct her live shows, including her Battlefield Tour.
In 2008, he released his first international song, "A Higher Love." This dance and techno song became popular on many European dance charts. His music has been featured on many dance albums that have sold millions of copies in over six countries.
Scotty Grand has also produced and written songs for other international dance hits. These include DJ Jose's "Like That" and DJ Antoine's "Live It Alive."
On Wipeout
On June 10, 2009, Scotty appeared on the ABC game show Wipeout. He was known as "Scotty 'Songbird' Granger" in the episode. He was the first person to successfully cross the "Sweeper Run" challenge. He won $50,000 on the show.
Competing on Platinum Hit
Scotty Granger was one of 12 finalists on the 2011 TV show Platinum Hit on Bravo. This show was a competition for songwriters. He made it to the final three contestants.
In the finale, he sang his own song called "Beautiful You." He finished in third place. The winner was Sonyae Elise, and Jes Hudak was the runner-up.
After Platinum Hit
After finishing third on Platinum Hit, Scotty Granger continued his music career. He started using the name Scotty Grand. In 2012, he released his album A Songwriter's Right. He also released an extended version called A Songwriter's Right - Paragraph One: Love Is....
He later released A Songwriter's Right - Paragraph Two: Hate Will.... These albums included collaborations with other artists, especially The Ben Leathers Orchestra.
In 2014, he became the creative director for Jordin Sparks' live shows. In 2015, he released his own song, "If This Ain't Love," which featured The Ben Leathers Orchestra. A music video was also made for this song.
Family Life
Scotty is the younger brother of former NBA basketball player Danny Granger. He is also the great-nephew of the famous gospel singer, Mahalia Jackson.
