Scotty Granger (born July 19, 1987) is an American singer, songwriter, and music producer. He is also known by his stage names Scotty Grand and Scotty G. He plays many instruments, including piano, guitar, flute, saxophone, and piccolo.
Scotty Granger is related to the famous "Queen of Gospel Music," Mahalia Jackson, who was his great-aunt. Many believe he inherited his musical talent from her.
In 2011, he started his solo singing career and changed his name to Scotty Grand. That same year, he signed a deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing to publish his music.
He became well-known in the American music scene after competing on the TV show Platinum Hit on Bravo. He finished third in the competition and was a favorite among fans.
In 2021, Scotty Grand was part of the team that wrote the theme song for the ABC show The Wonder Years. The song, called “All I Know,” has won awards, including a Hollywood Music in Media Award (HMMA).

Scotty's Musical Journey
Scotty Granger began singing and joining music contests when he was seven years old. In 1998, at age 11, he appeared on his first TV show from the Apollo Theatre in Harlem, New York. He won the competition against 10 other kids.
He released his first album, Revelations of Music, with Jam Tight Records. In 2004, while still in high school, he released his second album, So Natural. This album included his high school's 2005 class song, "Class Dismissed," which he performed at graduation.
In 2006, at 18, he was the youngest person to appear on another reality TV show called The One: Making a Music Star on ABC.
After studying at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, Scotty moved to Los Angeles. He started touring with singer Jordin Sparks in 2007. He played keyboards and sang backup for her. He also helped direct her live shows, including the Battlefield Tour.
In 2008, he released his first international song, "A Higher Love," which was a dance/techno track. It became popular on many European dance charts. His songs have been featured on compilation albums that sold over a million copies in more than six countries. Scotty Grand has also produced and written international dance hits for other DJs and artists.
On June 10, 2009, he appeared on the ABC show Wipeout. He was the first person in his episode to successfully cross the "Sweeper Run" obstacle. He won $50,000 on the show.
He later released his third album, A Songwriter's Right, which showed off his songwriting skills in many different music styles.
Competing on Platinum Hit
In 2011, Scotty Granger was one of 12 finalists on the Bravo TV show Platinum Hit. This show was a competition for songwriters. He made it to the final three contestants. He sang his own song, "Beautiful You," and finished third overall. The winner was Sonyae Elise, and Jes Hudak was the runner-up.
After Platinum Hit
After Platinum Hit, Scotty Granger continued his music career using the name Scotty Grand. In 2012, he released his album A Songwriter's Right. He also released an extended version called A Songwriter's Right - Paragraph One: Love Is.... He then released A Songwriter's Right - Paragraph Two: Hate Will.... He worked with many artists, including The Ben Leathers Orchestra.
He continued to work with Jordin Sparks as a keyboard player and backup singer. By 2014, he became her creative director. In 2015, he released his own song, "If This Ain't Love," which featured The Ben Leathers Orchestra. A music video was also released for the song.
Family Connections
Scotty Granger is the younger brother of former NBA basketball player Danny Granger. As mentioned, his great-aunt was the famous gospel singer Mahalia Jackson.
