Sea Life is not just about showing off ocean animals. They also work hard to protect them and their homes. They are involved in many important projects to help marine life around the world.
Seahorse Breeding Programs
Sea Life has been very successful at breeding and raising nine different types of seahorses. This is super important because it helps make sure these special creatures don't disappear from the wild. By breeding them in the aquarium, they don't need to take seahorses from the ocean. They might even be able to help put seahorses back into the wild if they ever become extinct there.
Rescuing Seals
Sea Life teams up with places that care for seals to help baby seals that have lost their parents or are hurt. Every year, they help rescue over 100 seals. After the seals get better, they are released back into the ocean where they belong.
Giving Animals a Forever Home
Sometimes, ocean animals get injured or have disabilities that mean they can't live safely in the wild. Sea Life provides a permanent, safe home for these creatures. This way, these animals can live out their lives comfortably instead of being put down.
Protecting Sea Turtles
Sea Life also helps protect sea turtles. They raised money to build a new Sea Turtle Rescue and Wildlife Information Centre. This center is on a Greek island called Zakynthos. It helps treat turtles that get hurt by boats or tangled in fishing nets. This work helps these amazing turtles survive and thrive.
