Sea Rescue was an exciting American TV show that lasted 30 minutes. It showed real stories of marine animals being rescued, cared for, and then returned to the ocean. A team of dedicated vets, animal experts, and researchers worked together to help these animals.
The show first aired on ABC on April 7, 2012. From 2014, Matt Gutman from ABC News became the host. He took over from Sam Champion, who hosted the show until 2014. Sea Rescue was part of a special Saturday morning TV block called Litton's Weekend Adventure, which features live-action shows for kids and families.
In 2016, Sea Rescue won a big award! It received a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Children's Series. This award recognized it as one of the best children's shows.
The show stopped making new episodes on June 2, 2018. Reruns were shown on ABC's Litton's Weekend Adventure until September 29, 2018. Another show called The Great Dr. Scott replaced it. However, reruns of Sea Rescue returned to ABC on October 3, 2020, so more people could enjoy its amazing stories.
