Sean Kieran Conlon (born on May 20, 1981) is an English singer and songwriter. He is most famous for being a member of the boy band Five.

Sean Conlon's Early Life

Sean Conlon was born in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. His family has roots in Ireland and Trinidad. He has one brother and two sisters.

He grew up in a place called Horsforth. Sean went to St Mary's RC Primary School and later to St. Mary's Catholic High School, Menston. When he was a child, he was interested in making soul music as a producer or playing rugby.

Sean had his first recording session when he was eleven years old. By the age of thirteen, he performed for famous people like Phil Collins. This happened after he won the Yamaha Young Composer Competition.

Sean Conlon's Music Career

Joining the Boy Band Five

In 1997, Sean Conlon tried out for a new boy band called Five. This group was meant to have a cool and edgy style. Sean was chosen to be part of the band along with Abz Love, Ritchie Neville, Scott Robinson, and Jason "J" Brown.

Five then signed a big record deal with Simon Cowell and BMG/RCA. They planned to release six albums.

Five's Big Success

The band Five became very successful all over the world. They sold more than 20 million records in just four years.

During the time they were releasing their third album, Kingsize, Sean faced some challenges. He was going through a difficult time, which affected his ability to be in the music video for their song "Let's Dance". A cardboard cutout of him was used instead. Sean later shared that he had felt very confident when the band started, but then he became less sure of himself because of the pressures around him.

On September 27, 2001, the group announced that they would be splitting up.

After Five and Reunions

After the band split, Sean took a long break from music. He decided not to join Five when they tried to get back together in 2006. That reunion attempt ended after eight months.

In March 2012, Sean auditioned for the first season of The Voice UK. However, none of the coaches chose him, so he did not move on to the next round.

In January 2013, Five returned to star in an ITV2 reality show called The Big Reunion. Jason "J" Brown did not want to rejoin the group at first. Five thought about finding a new fifth member, but then decided to continue as a four-member group. Later, Abz Love also left the band. This left Sean, Ritchie Neville, and Scott Robinson performing as a trio.

In February 2025, both Jason Brown and Abz Love rejoined Five. This brought back the original lineup of the band for the first time in 24 years.

Sean Conlon's Personal Life

When Five first started, Sean Conlon was briefly engaged to a dancer named Suzanne Mole, who toured with the group.

In 2013, Sean shared that he was married to a woman who prefers to keep her identity private. On January 15, 2014, it was announced that they were expecting their first child soon. The following week, they welcomed their first child, a daughter. In interviews in March 2025, Sean stated that he and his wife had separated. He is now a single father of two children.

Sean's father, Dennis, passed away on April 28, 2023.
