He played as a center, which is a key position in hockey, helping both offense and defense. Sean Dolan finished his career playing for the Lausitzer Füchse team in Germany.

Sean Dolan's Hockey Journey
Sean Dolan went to the University of Wisconsin. There, he played college hockey for four seasons, from 2007 to 2011. He was part of the NCAA Division I Wisconsin Badgers men's ice hockey team. During his time with the Badgers, he scored 42 points and had 118 penalty minutes in 143 games. Points are scored when a player gets a goal or an assist. Penalty minutes are given when a player breaks a rule.
Starting Professional Hockey
Sean Dolan began his professional hockey career in the 2010–11 season. He played in the ECHL league for the South Carolina Stingrays. The ECHL is a professional ice hockey league in North America.
He also started the 2011–12 season with the Stingrays. After playing 32 games in the ECHL, Dolan moved up to a higher league. He was called to play for the Charlotte Checkers in the AHL. The AHL is another major professional ice hockey league, often a step before the very top league, the NHL.
Time with the Checkers and Stingrays
On July 30, 2013, the Charlotte Checkers team decided to keep Dolan for another year. This was his third season playing for the club.
Later, in 2014, Sean Dolan became a free agent, meaning he could sign with any team. He tried out for the Chicago Wolves team. After that, he decided to go back to the South Carolina Stingrays. He signed a one-year contract with them on October 7, 2014.
Playing in Germany
On August 29, 2015, Sean Dolan left the Stingrays. He signed his first contract to play hockey outside of North America. He joined the German team, Lausitzer Füchse, which plays in the DEL2 league. This is a professional league in Germany. However, he left the team in the middle of December 2015. After that, he retired from playing professional hockey in 2016.
