Sebastià Alzamora i Martín (born March 6, 1972) is a talented writer from Majorca, an island in Spain. He is also a literary critic, which means he reviews and studies books. Sebastià helps manage cultural projects too. He is known for being part of a group of poets who call themselves "Imparables," meaning "Unstoppables."

Sebastià Alzamora was born in Llucmajor, a town in Majorca. He studied the Catalan language at the Universitat de les Illes Balears. This helped him become a great writer.

Early Works and Poetry

Sebastià first became known for his poetry. His collection of poems called Rafel (published in 1994) won the Salvador Espriu Award. He also wrote other poetry books like Apoteosi del cercle (1997) and Mula morta (2001). Another poetry collection, El benestar, came out in 2003.

Novels and Essays

Sebastià Alzamora has written many exciting novels. Some of his well-known books include L'extinció (1999) and Sara i Jeremies (2002). He also wrote La pell i la princesa (2005) and Nit de l'ànima (2007). Later novels are Miracle a Llucmajor (2010) and Dos amics de vint anys (2013).

He also wrote an essay about another writer, Gabriel Janer Manila. This essay was called L'escriptura del Foc (1998). Sebastià also contributed to a book called Imparables, Una antologia (2004). He worked with Hèctor Bofill and Manuel Forcano on Dogmàtica Imparable (2005). His novel Crim de sang was even published in English as Blood Crime in 2016.

Besides writing books, Sebastià Alzamora is also a columnist. He writes articles for Catalan newspapers like Avui and Ara. Since 2007, he has been the director of a magazine called Cultura. This shows his dedication to promoting culture and literature.
