Seboomook Lake is actually a large reservoir. A reservoir is like a big artificial lake where water is stored, often by building a dam. This reservoir is located on the West Branch Penobscot River. It stretches from the Seboomook Dam all the way upstream to where the North Branch and South Branch of the Penobscot River meet. It's about 13 miles (21 km) long and 1 mile (1.6 km) wide.
