History of Sedan
How Sedan Got Its Name
The community of Sedan has an interesting past with a few name changes. It was first known as Lawrence.
Later, in 1854, a post office was set up, and it was called Iba or sometimes Ida.
In 1861, the post office's name was changed to Sedan. It's thought that the community was named after a place called Sedan in France. The post office eventually closed down in 1908.
