Seegräben is a small village and a municipality in Switzerland. It is located in the Hinwil district, which is part of the canton of Zürich. Besides the main village of Seegräben, this municipality also includes other small areas. These are Aathal, Aathal-Seegräben, Aretshalden, Ottenhausen, Sack, and Wagenburg.

Geography of Seegräben
Seegräben is the smallest municipality in its district. It sits on the western side of Pfäffikersee lake. Part of the lake itself is within Seegräben's borders. The municipality also includes a section of the Robenhauser Ried. This is a very important wetland nature reserve.
Seegräben also covers part of the Aathal valley. The area of Seegräben is about 3.8 square kilometers. Almost half of this land, 49.9%, is used for farming. Forests cover 15.4% of the area. Buildings and roads make up 15.6% of the land. The remaining 19.1% is non-productive land. This includes rivers, lakes, and mountains.
People and Life in Seegräben
Seegräben has a population of about 1,400 people. Around 14.6% of the people living here are from other countries. The population has grown slowly over the last ten years. Most people in Seegräben, about 89.8%, speak German. Turkish is the second most common language, followed by Spanish.

Aathal Dinosaur Museum
The Aathal Dinosaur Museum is a famous place in Seegräben. It has a large collection of dinosaur skeletons. Many of these skeletons were found in the US states of Wyoming and Utah.
The museum shows real dinosaur skeletons found by its own team. It also has other original skeletons of dinosaurs that lived in the air and sea. You can see many life-size dinosaur models and replicas of skulls. The museum also teaches about dinosaur eggs, footprints, and how dinosaurs appear in movies. Since 1992, over 1.5 million people have visited the museum. They offer many guided tours, especially for school groups.
Jucker Farm
Jucker Farm is a special farm that offers "agrotourism." This means it's a farm where people can visit and enjoy farm activities. Jucker Farm grows and sells its own produce. They have three farm locations, each with restaurants and farm shops.
The main Jucker Farm is in Seegräben. It is famous for its fun farm events. One of the biggest events is the largest pumpkin festival in Switzerland. This festival attracts up to 300,000 visitors every year. Jucker Farm is also the most important producer and seller of pumpkins in Switzerland.
Getting Around Seegräben
The Aathal railway station is an important stop for local trains. It is part of the Zürich S-Bahn network, on line S14. You can travel from Zurich's main train station to Aathal in about 26 minutes.
During busy times, there is a special shuttle bus. This bus connects the Aathal railway station to Jucker Farm. The farm is located right on the shore of Pfäffikersee lake in Seegräben.
Famous Person from Seegräben
- Jakob Messikommer (1828–1917) was a pioneer in studying ancient wetland settlements. He researched the prehistoric village Wetzikon–Robenhausen near Robenhausen.
