The town of Segarcea is found in the western part of the Wallachian Plain. It is about 30 kilometers north of the Danube River. The city of Craiova, which is the main city of Dolj County, is about 25 kilometers north of Segarcea. Segarcea is also part of the larger Craiova metropolitan area.
