Segundo Galicia Sánchez (born August 11, 1938 – died December 14, 2020) was a professor and sociologist from Peru. He spent his life studying society and teaching others.
What He Did
Segundo Galicia Sánchez studied a lot to become a professor. He earned a degree in Sociology from the National University of San Marcos in Lima, Peru. Sociology is the study of how people live together in groups.
He then got a Master's degree in Social Sciences from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO) in Chile. Later, he earned a doctorate, which is the highest university degree, in Sociology from the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
He worked as a full-time professor and researcher at the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS) in Mexico. He was also part of the Sistema Nacional de Investigadores, which is a group for important researchers in Mexico. He led a team called "Society and Culture" and helped guide students in the Master's in Social Sciences program.
