Sehnsa Tehsil is a large administrative area, like a sub-district, located in Azad Kashmir. This region is part of Pakistan. Sehnsa is found to the west of Gulpur, along the road that connects Kotli and Rawalpindi.
The town of Sehnsa is the main center for the Sehnsa valley. It serves as the headquarters for the Tehsil, meaning it's where the local government offices are located.
The 2005 Earthquake
On October 8, 2005, a very strong earthquake shook the region. Sehnsa Tehsil felt these powerful tremors. Luckily, the city did not suffer any major damage.
On the same day, a special group called an NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) arrived to help. This group, named Khidmat Khalq Trust, was one of the first to reach the affected areas of Azad Kashmir. They went to Bagh district to help people who were impacted by the earthquake.
The NGO stayed for about six months, helping people rebuild their homes. The people of Sehnsa also joined in to help their neighbors and those in need.
