School History
The school we know today started a long time ago. It began with the Seijo Elementary School. This elementary school was the first part of the bigger Seijo Gakuen group.
In the 1920s, separate junior high schools and high schools were created. There was one high school for boys and another for girls.
After some big changes in education in 1949, the school system was updated. In 1950, Seijo Gakuen Junior High School and High School opened. It became a school for both boys and girls. At the same time, the higher education part became a junior college. Later, it grew into Seijo University.
School Traditions
Seijo Gakuen has a special tradition about school uniforms. This tradition comes from when the boys' and girls' high schools were separate.
The old girls' school did not have a strict uniform. This tradition continues today for girls. They do not wear a specific uniform. However, they must follow a general dress code. This means they need to dress appropriately for school.
Boys at the school still wear a blazer and slacks. This is their school uniform.
