History of Senecaville
Senecaville was officially started in 1815. It was named after a nearby stream called Seneca Creek. A post office opened in the village in 1823. This helped people send and receive mail.

Senecaville is a small village covering about 0.48 square miles (1.23 square kilometers) of land. It is located in Ohio.
The village is just two miles west of Senecaville Lake. This lake is also known as Seneca Lake. It is a man-made reservoir, which means it was created by building a dam. The lake was built in 1937 to help control floods and save water. Today, it is a very popular place for fishing and other outdoor activities. Seneca Lake is the third largest lake in Ohio.
