Sengkang MRT/LRT station facts for kids
Sengkang MRT/LRT Station NE16 STC is a busy train station in Sengkang, a town in north-east Singapore. It's a special kind of station called an interchange station. This means you can switch between two different train lines here: the North East MRT Line and the Sengkang LRT Line. The station is also connected right to Compass One, a popular shopping mall.

- January 18, 2003: The station first opened for the Sengkang LRT Line East Loop. This was a big step for people living in Sengkang!
- June 20, 2003: The North East MRT Line started running. This made it even easier to travel from Sengkang to other parts of Singapore.
- January 29, 2005: The Sengkang LRT Line West Loop opened. At first, trains only went in one direction on this loop.
- January 1, 2013: Good news for commuters! The Sengkang LRT Line West Loop began running in both directions all day long. This made travel much more convenient.
