Seo Yea-ji (Hangul: 서예지) is a South Korean actress. She was born on April 6, 1990. She started her acting journey in the TV show Potato Star 2013QR3 (2013–2014). After that, she took on important roles in dramas like Diary of a Night Watchman (2014) and Last (2015). She also appeared in the fantasy series Moorim School: Saga of the Brave (2016).

Seo Yea-ji became well-known for her main roles in TV series such as Save Me (2017) and Lawless Lawyer (2018). She gained even more fame with the romantic comedy It's Okay to Not Be Okay (2020).

Starting Her Career (2013–2016)

Seo Yea-ji didn't originally plan to be an actress. However, the head of her management company saw her talent and encouraged her to try acting. In March 2013, she began her career by appearing in a TV advertisement. In May 2013, she was in a short film called Love.

She officially started as an actress in the TV show Potato Star 2013QR3. This show had 120 episodes and aired from September 2013 to May 2014.

Next, she starred in the historical drama Diary of a Night Watchman (2014). She played a big role in this show and was even nominated for an award. After this, she appeared in the TV series Super Daddy Yeol (2015) and Last (2015).

Seo Yea-ji also started acting in movies. Her first big movie was the historical film The Throne (2015), where she played Queen Jeongsun. She also appeared in the film Circle of Atonement (2015). In 2015, she was featured in the music video for "Let's Not Fall In Love" by the popular K-pop group Big Bang.

In 2016, she played a main character in the drama Moorim School: Saga of the Brave. She also had a supporting role in the movie Seondal: The Man Who Sells the River (2016). Later, she appeared in the drama Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth (2016–17).

After her contract ended in 2016, Seo Yea-ji joined a new company called King Entertainment.

Growing Popularity (2017–Present)

In 2017, Seo Yea-ji took on her first main role in a movie called Another Way. She then starred in the thriller TV series Save Me (2017). Viewers praised her acting in this show.

In 2018, she starred in a special VR film called Stay With Me. She also played a lawyer in the TV drama Lawless Lawyer (2018) alongside Lee Joon-gi. This series was very successful and became one of the most-watched Korean dramas on cable TV.

In 2019, she appeared in the films Warning: Do Not Play and By Quantum Physics: A Nightlife Venture.

On January 1, 2020, Seo Yea-ji joined a new entertainment company called Gold Medalist.

Her first project with Gold Medalist was the romantic comedy It's Okay to Not Be Okay (2020). In this show, she played a best-selling children's book author. Her performance was highly praised by critics. The The New York Times even called the series one of "The Best International Shows of 2020" and described Seo's acting as "mesmerizing." This role made her much more popular in Korea and around the world.

In 2021, she starred in the mystery-thriller film Recalled. This movie was a big hit and was number one at the box office when it first came out. In December 2021, she renewed her contract with Gold Medalist.

In 2022, Seo Yea-ji starred in the TV drama Eve.

On November 30, 2023, Gold Medalist announced that Seo Yea-ji would be leaving their agency. In June 2024, she signed with a new agency called Sublime.

Being an Ambassador

In December 2018, Seo Yea-ji was made an honorary police officer by the Korean National Police Agency. This was to recognize her work in showing police activities through her movies and dramas.

Seo Yea-ji has been a model for many different brands. These include health and beauty products like Inner Flora, New Origin, and Yuhan Care. She has also advertised mask brands like Aer, sunglasses from Rieti, and cosmetics from Luna. She also appeared in commercials for Naver Webtoon.
