Sergei Sergeevich Sidorsky was born on March 13, 1954. He served as the Prime Minister of Belarus from July 2004 to December 2010. He first became the acting Prime Minister in July 2004. Later, in December 2004, he was officially confirmed as the Prime Minister.

Early Life and Education
Sergei Sidorsky was born in Homiel, which is a city in Belarus. He finished school in 1971. In 1976, he graduated from the Belarusian Institute of Railway Engineers. There, he studied electrical engineering.
Career Before Politics
Sergei Sidorsky had a long career before he joined the government. He started as an electrical fitter and electrician. From 1976 to 1991, he worked at the Homiel Radio Equipment Plant. He began as a foreman and moved up to become the head of a department. Eventually, he became the deputy director of the plant.
From 1991 to 1992, he was the director of the same plant. After that, from 1992 to 1998, he was the general manager of a research and production company called RATON in Homiel.
Joining the Government
In 1998, Sidorsky started working in public service. He became a deputy chairman in the Homiel Voblast Administration. This role helped him manage and develop the region.
His hard work led him to higher positions. In 2001, he became the Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus. From 2002 to 2003, he was the First Deputy Prime Minister and also the acting Prime Minister.
Becoming Prime Minister
From December 2003 to December 2010, Sergei Sidorsky held the important position of Prime Minister of Belarus. As Prime Minister, he led many plans and projects. These projects aimed to help the country's economy grow, improve social services, and build good relationships with other countries.
After Being Prime Minister
After his time as Prime Minister, Sidorsky continued to work in important roles. On December 13, 2011, he became a member of the Board for Industry and Agro-Industrial Complex. This was for the Eurasian Economic Commission, which works on economic cooperation between several countries.
Awards and Achievements
Sergei Sidorsky has received several honors. He is known as an "Honoured Workman of the Industry of the Republic of Belarus." He also has a special degree called "Doctor of Engineering Sciences." This means he is an expert in engineering. He is also a member of the International Engineering Academy.
He is an expert in special technologies called vacuum-plasma technologies. He has written more than 40 scientific papers and books. In 2009, the Ukrainian president gave him an "Honorary Weapon." This award was for his important work in improving the relationship between Ukraine and Belarus.
Personal Life
Sergei Sidorsky is married and has two daughters. Besides his native Belarusian language, he also speaks Russian and German.
