Sergey Nikolayevich Galitsky (Russian: Серге́й Николаевич Га́лицкий) is a very successful Russian businessman. He is famous for starting and co-owning Magnit, which became one of Russia's biggest retail store chains. He also owns FC Krasnodar, a popular football club. In 2021, a magazine called Forbes estimated his wealth to be around $3.5 billion.

Early Life and Beginnings
Sergey Galitsky was born on August 14, 1967. His birth name was Sergey Arutyunyan. He grew up in Lazarevskoye, a town near Sochi in southern Russia. His mother was Russian, and his father was Russian-Armenian. Later, he decided to use his wife's family name, Galitsky. From 1985 to 1987, he served in the Soviet army.
Education and First Steps in Business
In 1989, while still a student, Sergey started working at a bank in Krasnodar. He studied economics and graduated from Kuban State University in 1993. A year later, he started his first company called "Transasia." This company sold cosmetics and perfumes in large quantities.
Building a Business Empire
In 1995, Sergey left "Transasia" to start a new company called "Tander." This was the beginning of something big.
Founding Magnit Stores
In 1998, Sergey built his first large storage and distribution center. Soon after, he opened the very first "Magnit" grocery store in Krasnodar. "Magnit" quickly grew into the largest chain of stores in Russia by the number of locations. In 2006, his company offered its shares to the public for the first time. This helped the company grow even more.
Creating FC Krasnodar and a Famous Park
Sergey Galitsky loves football. In 2008, he founded his own football club, FC Krasnodar. He also paid for the construction of a modern stadium for the club, which was finished in 2013.
Around the stadium, Sergey created a beautiful park. This park opened in 2017 and has grown even larger since then. It is now one of the most famous places in Krasnodar. Even though it's officially called Krasnodar Park, many people know it as Galitsky Park.
New Ventures
In 2018, Sergey sold a part of his shares in the Magnit retail chain to a Russian bank. This was a big business deal. In 2019, he started a new business venture: making wine. His vineyards are located near the village of Gostagaevskaya. The wine is sold under the brand name "Galitsky & Galitsky."
Family Life
Sergey Galitsky was married to Viktoria Galitskaya. They have one daughter named Polina Galitskaya. Viktoria Galitskaya passed away in June 2023.
