It is found between two large, round valleys called cirques: the Troumouse Cirque and the Barrosa Cirque. Serre Mourene reaches a height of 3,090 meters (about 10,138 feet). It is the second highest peak in the Munia mountain group. The highest peak in this group is the pic de la Munia.
About the Peak
The Serre Mourene peak is located in the central part of the Pyrenees. It sits on the main watershed of the mountains. This means that rain and snow falling on one side of the peak flow towards one ocean, and on the other side, they flow towards a different ocean. The peak is positioned between the famous Munia peak and the area around Troumouse.
