Playing in the Pros
Seth Williams had a career playing for different football teams. He played in both the National Football League (NFL) and the Canadian Football League (CFL). He also played in the Arena Football League (AFL).
New York Giants
Williams joined the New York Giants on April 26, 2010. He was later released by the team on September 4, 2010. He then joined their practice squad, which is a group of players who train with the team. However, he was released again just a few days later, on September 9, 2010.
Montreal Alouettes
On January 20, 2011, Williams signed with the Montreal Alouettes in Canada. He played well for them, making 98 tackles in the 2011 and 2012 seasons. A tackle is when a player stops an opponent who has the ball.
The Alouettes signed him to a new two-year deal on February 14, 2013. He was even named the Alouettes' Most Outstanding Rookie in 2011. Unfortunately, he was released by the team on June 21, 2013. He missed the entire 2013 season because he was recovering from an ankle injury.
Ottawa Redblacks
Williams signed with the Ottawa Redblacks on March 4, 2014. This was another team in the Canadian Football League. He played with them for a few months before being released on August 18, 2014.
New Orleans VooDoo
On March 6, 2015, Williams joined the New Orleans VooDoo. This team played in the Arena Football League (AFL), which is a different style of football played indoors. He became a free agent after the 2015 season, meaning he was free to sign with any team.
Tampa Bay Storm
Williams was assigned to the Tampa Bay Storm, another AFL team, on March 1, 2016. He was later placed on reassignment on April 7, 2016. However, he was assigned to the Storm again on May 4, 2016.
