Setsu Sawagata (澤潟 節, Sawagata Setsu) was a Japanese football player. He played as a midfielder for the Japan national team.

Playing for Clubs

Setsu Sawagata played football for a team called Osaka SC. Many other talented players who also played for the Japanese national team were part of Osaka SC during that time. Some of these players included Kiyoo Kanda, Shiro Azumi, Fukusaburo Harada, Usaburo Hidaka, Toshio Hirabayashi, Kikuzo Kisaka, Yoshio Fujiwara, and Shumpei Inoue.

Playing for His Country: Japan National Team

Setsu Sawagata was chosen to play for the Japanese national team in May 1923. He joined the team for the 1923 Far Eastern Championship Games, which took place in Osaka.
