Seven Sisters Road is a well-known road in north London, England. It stretches through three different areas of London called boroughs: Islington, Hackney, and Haringey. This road is an important route that connects different parts of the city.

About Seven Sisters Road

Seven Sisters Road is a long street that starts near Holloway Road at a busy intersection called the Nags Head crossroads. From there, it continues to another crossroads where Blackstock Road and Stroud Green Road meet. The road then goes uphill next to Finsbury Park until it reaches Manor House. After that, it goes downhill to its end point at Tottenham High Road, which is also known as the A10 road, at a place called Seven Sisters Corner.

Building the Road

The idea for Seven Sisters Road was approved in 1829, and construction began a few years later in 1833. It was built by a group called the Metropolitan Turnpike Trust. This trust was responsible for building and maintaining roads, often collecting tolls (small fees) from people who used them to help pay for the upkeep. Today, Seven Sisters Road is part of a larger road network known as the A503.

Finsbury Park Section

A notable part of Seven Sisters Road runs right alongside Finsbury Park. On the west side, the road is open to the park, offering views of the green space. On the east side of this section, you can see many large, old houses built in the Victorian style. These beautiful buildings are now mostly used as hotels, welcoming visitors to the area.
